How the app works
App overview
Robo Phonix is designed to create robot style voices in a simple and creative way. You can generate a voice from typed text, record your own voice, use Auto Mic or process an audio file.
The result is sent to the audio player, where you can listen to the generated sound and view the audio graphs.
Text to Speech
Type your text and generate a spoken voice. This is useful when you want a robot voice without recording your own voice.
Robot FX
Robot FX changes speech by adding robotic sound effects. It is useful for quick mechanical, electronic or futuristic voices.
Vocoder FX
Vocoder FX shapes your voice with a synthetic sound. This creates a classic electronic robot voice, often used in music and sci fi sound design.
Microphone and Auto Mic
You can use the microphone to record your voice and transform it with Robot FX or Vocoder FX. Auto Mic can detect when you are speaking and play back the processed robot voice after you stop talking.
Live Monitor lets you hear your microphone while speaking. Headphones are recommended to avoid feedback.
Audio player and graphs
After a voice is generated, it appears in the audio player. The graphs below the player show the waveform and sound activity, so you can quickly see the shape and level of the generated audio.
